Social Search, thy name is Sproose
What do you get when you combine Digg.com, Del.icio.us, and Google? Sproose.com, as it turns out.
Sproose.com (currently in beta) combines the searches one expects from Yahoo! or Google with tagging and social voting. The theory is that the more who people "vote" for a site, the more likely the site is to be the result you were looking for. As Sproose gets up and running, it could be exactly that.
Google has always been my search of choice, at least since it came out. Before that, it was Alta Vista, and I don't know that I'll leave the big G, but I think I will start suggesting Sproose to people who have a harder time with Google-fu . I think that having a community behind the results will be very useful.
Alright, specific review time.
Pro: Nice design, decent content for being in beta, social search and tagging make finding sites other people like very easy
Cons: Some obscure searches didn't find correct sites, brianandpamela.com not indexed (yet <grin> go vote for it!)
As far as I'm concerned the pros outweigh the cons, Sproose is a user friendly search engine with a LOT of potential.
In the interest of disclosure, this post has been sponsored by Sproose.com, but like all my sponsored content, it is still my honest opinion.
