Ask Brian: What’s a "String Raise"?

It seems like every time you see poker in the movies you hear a line like that.  I think there was even one in the recent re-envisioned "Casino Royale" Bond movie.  The problem is it's a bunch of hooey.  It's called a "string raise" and it's against the rules… (more…)

Who knew that WWW stands for Wii Wii Wii?

You know, I'm not one to repeat press releases verbatim, but:

On Dec. 22, Nintendo and Opera Software bring the Internet to the living room couch with a free trial version of the Opera Web browser. Wii owners with a high-speed Internet connection can download a free trial Opera browser to activate the Internet Channel of the Wii Menu and begin surfing the Web. Link to NINTENDO press release

Wii-puns of mass distraction

wii.jpgOk, so I've been falling down on the job and not blogging wii-cently.  Umm, sorry.  You might say I've been i-wii-sponsible.   Ahem… se-wii-ously though.  Errr… I should cut that out.  It's wii-erd.  Ack… I can't control it, it's all wii-flex, rout-wii-n, it comes natural-wii.   So, if you hadn't guessed, our fam-wii are the proud wii-cipients of a Nintendo Wii (pronounced "wee"–proper pronunciation is important), and it's truly wii-markable.
