While we're searching for a way to get the blog to send notifications, I've created a feed at Feedburner.com.  What this means is that FeedBurner will send a digest version of any posts, with links back to the blog.  

So here's how it works: 

1. enter your email in the box in the right sidebar, or just click here.
2. Click on "Subscribe me!"
3. Check the email in the box on the following page and enter the numbers and text in the box (this prevents robots from subscribing to the list)
4. FeedBurner will send you an email with a confirmation link, just click the link to confirm.
5. That's it!  You should get an update every day that there are new posts.
